Every detail about this villain makes you want to see him fall even more. Zash Caine may be a bit on the hammy side, as far as Fairy Tail villains go, but his introduction scene proves that he is not someone to be messed with. One great aspect of Fairy Tail has always been its villains, and Dragon Cry lives up to the Fairy Tail name. There were genuinely shocking plot twists hidden within the seemingly simple plot of the movie, and the Marvel-style post-credits scene was both thrilling, and ominous…
But the movie’s strength lies in its authenticity to the source material, its masterful storytelling, and how it stayed true to the spirit of the show. Their mission is to retrieve the titular Dragon Cry, a staff said to hold tremendous power, from the clutches of Zash Caine, the man who stole it to take revenge against the Fiore Kingdom. Their adventures take them all across the Kingdom of Fiore, emphasizing teamwork and companionship along the way.įairy Tail: Dragon Cry follows the exploits of Team Natsu as they journey to the neighboring Kingdom of Stella on behalf of the King of Fiore. Together, they form “Team Natsu,” and they complete magic job requests and missions on a regular basis. Along the way, she meets Fire Dragon Slayer Natsu Dragneel, whose method of fighting tends to go a little overboard, eccentric Ice-Make Wizard Gray Fullbuster, Titania Erza Scarlet, widely believed to be one of the most powerful wizards in Fairy Tail, and Sky Dragon Slayer Wendy Marvell. The series follows the adventures of Lucy Heartfilia, a young celestial wizard wishing to join the Fairy Tail wizard guild.
Dragon Cry was the second of these movies, released in theaters from August 14th to August 20th. The long-awaited next installment in the popular Fairy Tail anime series returned August in the form of a movie, entitled “Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry.” Premiering in 2009, the anime has had a run of over 250 episodes, with two movies to date.
